This role requires someone with previous secretarial experience, preferably gained whilst working within the legal sector. It would suit someone who is highly organised whilst still being hungry to learn and develop new skills. As well as this, strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team is essential.

Role purpose
You will be a part of the support team undertaking administrative tasks for the five qualified patent attorneys based in the Aberdeen office whilst also providing some support to the Glasgow team. The overall objective being to prepare, obtain and defend the patent rights of the firm's clients.

Role Profile
1 Understanding and attending to the formalities and administrative tasks associated with UK, Foreign and OHIM patent applications.
- completion of all forms
- filing and reporting applications

2 Providing general secretarial support
- audio dictation (big hand)
- creation of letters from standards available
- amendment and preparation of letters from dictation and written form
- ability to follow appropriate Work Instructions and client procedures
- creation of invoices from job cards
- take and pass on phone messages

3 Understanding and attending to the formalities and administrative tasks associated with patent applications.
- instructing foreign associates
- receive and acknowledge correspondence from associates

Training will be provided.
