Communications and Content Manager - Peterborough

Up to £30,000, OTE 35k - Permanent

An excellent opportunity for an experienced and talented copywriter to join a rapidly expanding team of market leading creative and technological experts.

As a senior figure in our in-house content team you will live and breathe written communications, be a perfectionist when it comes to detail and have a creative flair enabling you to produce engaging content for any audience.

As part of our joined up approach, you will be required to work closely with the wider marketing team including paid search experts and designers, but also with individuals in other departments such as sales, compliance and IT.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' financial services B2C writing experience (candidates without financial services experience will still be considered).

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing and implementing a centralised content plan, in line with our agreed marketing strategy
  • Researching, writing, creating and editing compelling and creative content for a wide range of digital marketing communications (social media and landing page content for paid search advertising) plus some offline content
  • Making recommendations for, and managing the development of, new content for the website to improve SEO performance.
  • To attend and participate in internal meetings, as required spending time researching the market and opportunities for exposure through content marketing
  • Mentoring and supporting more junior content team members to develop their content skills and expertise (future objective)
  • Working with senior team members to gather data & insights
  • Monitoring content trends and relevant industry news to ensure our approach is up-to-date

What you'll need:

  • Ideally a minimum of 5 years content marketing experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and campaigns for our brands (not paid search accounts though as these are managed by our paid search team)
  • Ability to write well for a range of financial service products sectors and audiences, taking into account tone of voice and brand guidelines
  • Ideally have financial services writing experience (candidates without will still be considered)
  • Understanding of the impact of content on user experience
  • Excellent grasp of the English language and ability to proof-read and evaluate content effectively
  • Creativity - the ability to come up with out of the box ideas that match the campaign objectives
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • An innate understanding of commercial value and measuring the success/failure of a project
  • A flexible individual, comfortable with a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • A passion for content marketing is essential, as is your willingness to immerse yourself in our campaigns
  • An understanding of or an enthusiasm to learn about the digital landscape and its impact on the future of the content marketing industry
  • Experience working with email marketing platforms and content management systems
  • Knowledge of SEO
