Description

Team Leader Office Legal Cashier - Leeds City Centre - £24k-£30k - 35 hrs/week + good benefits

A progressive, innovative law firm based in Leeds City Centre are currently looking for a team leader to oversee the office Legal Cashier team. You would be joining a successful, friendly team within the firm's finance department.

With the firm going from strength to strength there are plenty of opportunities for personal development through a varied workload, training courses and career progression.

Job purpose:

Leading the Office Cashier team in the day to day management of transactions of Office

Accounts using the Artiion case Management software, ensuring the business is compliant

with Solicitors Accounts rules (SARs).

Duties

Daily processing of Office account payments, receipts and transfers; performing end of day balancing procedures

Identification and allocation of Office account receipts

Accurate posting of Office account receipts and payments in Artiion

Accurate production of cheques for Office account to ensure the timely settlement of disbursements

Accurate processing of BACS payment via online banking

Investigation and resolution of unidentified receipt on a timely basis

Daily reconciliation of unidentified funds

Providing ad-hoc assistance for any internal requests or queries in accordance with service line agreement

Regulatory compliance with SARs to prevent any breach

Timely and accurate filing of all support documentation

Familiarity with, and adherence to, SARS at all times amongst team members

Manage the team in both a professional and administrative capacity, leading by example

Manage performance through feedback and training

Adequate sharing of knowledge and a body of technical expertise to deliver high quality client service at all times

Ensure accuracy and attention to details across the team

Use of systems functionality is maximised and system controls are active and monitored

Candidate requirements

Experience in a team management role is essential

Demonstrate a strong experience of in Office account cashiering, preferably in a legal environment

Demonstrate a strong understanding of control environments

Demonstrate a sound knowledge and application of current SARs and money laundering procedures

Good working knowledge of Excel and Word

Experience of liaising directly with fee earners and the proven ability to build effective

relationships internal working relationships with all within Finance and the business as a whole

Demonstrate an ability to ascertain and adhere to the requirements of the role in a timely manner

Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in a professional and personable manner

Possess excellent numerical skills with attention to detail

Display a strong work ethic with the ability to meet targets

Good working knowledge of Lexis Nexis Artiion accounts product is preferred but not essential
