Health and Safety Advisor / Consultant - Located in Bourne, Lincolnshire

£25,000 - £35,000 per annum

My client has the exciting opportunity to recruit a Health and Safety Consultant in their Lincolnshire offices to support the growth of our business throughout the UK.

You will contribute to and be responsible for the delivery of Health and Safety services, on a range of projects across a variety sectors including construction, energy, residential and commercial projects.

You will have the ability to manage multiple projects, have an understanding of key hazards typical to building and construction projects and be able to work as an individual and as part of a wider team.

The role requires an in depth understanding of design and construction processes and the ability to communicate effectively. You will have a clear understanding of the legal requirements of the CDM Regulations.

In particular the role will require you to:

  • Advise Clients of their duties.
  • Act as appointed Health and Safety Consultant you would be the point of contact, to ensure the duties are fulfilled in accordance with statutory regulatory requirements, approved code of practice and industry advice.
  • Liaise with Designers to compile a Design Risk Management schedule.
  • Collate Pre Construction Information and identify how any information gaps will be resolved.
  • Carry out H&S specific design reviews throughout the design and construction phases of a project.
  • Promote and manage clear communication between project duty holders with respect to coordination of outputs and management of health and safety issues at all project stages.
  • Prepare and issue the project specific Health and Safety File on completion.

Your skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Health and Safety Professional (e.g. Registered Membership of APS or H&S Register).
  • Qualified to NEBOSH certificate or NCRQ certificate level.
  • Hold minimum of TechIOSH membership, and working towards GradIOSH.
  • A thorough knowledge of CDM2015.
  • Experience in Design Risk Management.
  • Experience in construction projects.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment.
  • Previous experience in delivering on multi-discipline projects.
  • Knowledge of other construction related health and safety regulations.
  • Good communications skills, both written and oral.
  • Understanding of common construction techniques
  • Effective self-management and time management.
