- Description
We are currently looking for a groom/assistant instructor for a small, high end yard in Ascot.
The ideal candidate will have BHSAI/UKCC2 or equivalent qualifications for insurance purposes, but applicants without qualifications will still be considered as long as they are knowledgeable in high end customer service. You don't need a HGV licence as the horses don't travel to shows.
You will be supervising the yard on the Yard Manager's days off, so someone able to work under their own initiative and lead a small team is necessary, as well as the ability to follow the Yard Manager's instructions.
Duties include: basic schooling/jumping to keep the lesson schoolmasters ticking over, all general yard duties and assisting the clients by leading them out on hacks as well as providing low level dressage/jumping lessons to the clients.
Possibility of working livery for own horse provided they are suitable to use in lessons, live in available at a small monthly cost.
Applicants from a hunting/eventing/polo/all rounder background would be best suited to this role. You will be of smart appearance and have the ability to assess the client's needs and provide an amazing experience for them.
The work is seasonal, naturally busier in the school holidays and summer and quieter in the winter. Weekend work is required as these are the busier periods. Two days off a week and a salary of around £20,000 per year, with room for negotiation for the right applicant.
