Nursing Home Chef/Cook
West Yorkshire
We are looking to recruit 2 experienced Nursing Home Chefs/Cooks to join our client based in Huddersfield on a permanent basis. Their current working hours are 8am - 6pm but they can be flexible on shift patterns and are open to discussion.
You will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, overseeing a smooth and efficient operation to ensure resident's nutritional needs are met. As such you will need to have a good understanding of catering for the specialist dietary requirements of the residents.
All applicants must have a valid Enhanced DBS which is portable or be willing to apply for one.
Key Duties
- Menu Planning, adhering to dietary requirements of residents
- Preparation, cooking and presentation of meals, snacks and beverages
- Maintaining the standards of the kitchen in relation to cleanliness of kitchen, storage areas and equipment
- Ensure compliance with health regulations
- Supervision of kitchen staff and service users where appropriate
- Regular liaison with Home Manager in all matters relating to catering
- Ordering or stock and stock rotation
- Attending staff meetings and training as required
Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record working in a similar environment and have all relevant qualifications including:
- NVQ 1 & 2 or equivalent
- Food Safety Level 2
