Machinist

Taskmaster are working with an established and reputable Water Utility Company that are based in the Scunthorpe area. Due to company growth and the win of new contracts we are now looking to add a Fabricator / Welder to work on a full time basis.

Working under your own initiative and as a key member of the team in the manufacture of bespoke fittings/parts to a high standard. You will have the experience and ability to provide inspiration and support for the varied tasks required by the company.

You will be expected to carry out the following operations:

• Prepare and operate machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
• Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc. to determine material requirements and task sequences.

• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
• Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
• Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce the desired result.

• Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed correctly.

• Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
• On occasion, work during unsociable hours.
• Ensure that Health and Safety guidelines are followed. Be responsible for your own Health and Safety as well as those around you.

Machines used: Old style Manual Machines - Broadbent

In their machine shop they also have various Vertical / Horizontal Borers and Milling / Turning Machines.

Prepared to be trained for new skills or have further training in relevant areas.You will have the experience and ability to provide inspiration and support for the varied tasks required by the company. Demonstrating excellent communication skills, a 'can do' attitude and inspiring colleagues with a positive & professional outlook at all times is an essential part driving the company forward, coupled with a demonstrable and measurable contribution to achieving completion targets on all jobs.
