Taskmaster are working with an established and reputable Water Utility Company that are based in the Scunthorpe area. Due to company growth and the win of new contracts we are now looking to add a Field Technician to work on a full time basis.
Working under the direction of the Lead Technician but expected to use and display your own initiative, as a key member of the team you will assist the Lead Technician in carrying out specialist 'under pressure' utility works on construction sites throughout the UK.
You will be expected to carry out the following operations:
- Assist Lead Technician in setting up/dismantling under pressure drilling equipment as and when requested by Operations Manager.
- Load and unload Company LGVS' & HGV's in a safe manner ensuring loads are secured and vehicles/equipment are not damaged.
- Share driving responsibilities with Lead Technician ensuring the Highway Code is followed and speed limits are met to arrive on site in timely manner.
- Complete any required H & S inductions on construction sites before commencing work.
- Carry out work on client's sites to the highest standard to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat/incremental business.
- Read, understand and follow, method statements and risk assessments for each job task.
- Under the guidance of the Lead Technician, install under pressure fittings, using correct equipment and carry out hydrostatic pressure tests in safe manner prior to operating the under pressure equipment.
- Under guidance of Lead Technician assist with operation of under pressure drilling, pipe cutting and linestop equipment.
- Ensure the job completion paperwork is completed correctly and returned to the commercial office.
- Keep van clean and tidy to ensure it complies with water hygiene regulations.
- Carry out regular maintenance of equipment, stripping down, replacing component parts & lubricating.
- Keep factory clean and tidy, ensure tools and equipment are stored in allotted locations and safe from hazards to health & safety.
- As we operate a 24/7 reactive company you will be expected to work extended hours and be prepared to work away from home as and when required.
- Be prepared to be available for work on a 1 weekend in 4 rota basis (subject to change in the event of more crews being employed i.e. 1 in 5 etc.)
- Ensure that Health and Safety guidelines are followed. Be responsible for your own Health and Safety as well as those around you.
- Prepared to be trained for new skills or have further training in relevant areas.
