TM Resourcing's Technical Division are currently recruiting on behalf of a fantastic Company for an Engineering assistant based in Southend-On-Sea.

My client are an independent Essex-based manufacturer of fire alarm and building infrastructure system evacuation devices and accessories as well as a well-respected distributor of rescue and other specialist equipment to the public sector.
Based at their Southend-On-Sea headquarters, you will be a key part of our support team involved in mechanical/electric service work, support to our production engineering department and facilities
Connecting with admin, operations and manufacturing, this role is varied, exciting and a fantastic chance to develop your career in the industrial/commercial sector.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Technician:
- PDI/ Repair/ rectification and maintenance of hydraulic, electrical & petrol powered tools
- Faults diagnosis and preparing list of spares required to enable quote to be raised
- Liaising with admin team so that customer quotes can be raised and issued
- Provide customers with basic technical support by telephone - training will be provided
- Ensuring service database is kept up to date and history of tools is recorded
- Ensure the service area is kept in a clean, tidy and safe state
- Assist sales team with technical assistance
Production Engineering / Facilities Maintenance:
- Work with production and other department to assemble and modify production cells, mobile units and assembly equipment
- Manufacture of 'Tube and Bracket' assembly platforms and production cells
- Assist with general production engineering matters including housekeeping and general maintenance of facilities
- Assist with general repairs and maintenance within the facility
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Experience in power tool rectification/ basic mechanical/ electrical knowledge
- Diligence and attention to detail
- IT literate in use of word/ excel/ Outlook.
- Willingness to learn new skills and a flexible approach to work
- Ability to work under pressure and to time constraints
- Good telephone manner and ability to communicate with customers and colleagues
- Ability to be trained on a variety of skills if required
- Practical skills such as:
- Ability in DIY, use of power tools such as drills and power drivers, hanging pictures etc.
