TM Resourcing (Technical & Engineering Division) have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to work for our well established food manufacturing client.
This is an exclusive opportunity for the right candidate, our client has a low turnover of staff making this type of vacancy very rare and sought after.
The Engineering Supervisor will work alongside the shift engineers and co-coordinate the immediate and longer term requirements of the production facility, Ensure the team adhere to food safety and health & safety legislation and company's policies and procedures whilst reducing breakdown response time.
Job Duties (List not exhaustive)
Liaise with the Engineering Manager and as required operations management team to prioritise both reactive and planned maintenance to ensure that service levels are maintained.
To promote and ensure a right first time approach and lead by example by means of enthusiasm and craftsmanship to inspire others in the Engineering shift team.
Ensure that all work carried out is done so to the expected professional standard
Ensure all breakdowns are logged in the required detail and any persistent problems / underlying causes are identified.
Identify skills gaps within the department and inform the Engineering Manager and provide support to solve those gaps.
Take ownership for the days/nights handover and ensure that a formal and full shift handover is performed at every shift change.
Manage and monitor Engineering rest periods, ensuring adequate cover within the production facility at all times.
Conduct RTW interviews for sickness and holiday absence & accident investigations in a timely manner.
Conduct weekly toolbox checks of the engineering team and ensure the inventory is correct and to a professional standard expected and take appropriate actions to correct.
Identify ways for continuous improvement and assist in the implementation.
Ensure that shift engineers complete the PPM schedule and any issues are relayed to the Engineering Manager and take ownership in closing out on time and in full.
To promote, order, high standards and professional discipline within the Engineering teams and carry out first line disciplinary procedures if required.
Effectively manage shift manning levels at all times and to ensure that minimum resource requirements are met and reported at all times so that there is no impact on service to manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate with have experience with in food manufacturing, Supervisory / team leader experience and be a time served / apprentice trained Engineer.
Shift pattern: 4on / 4 off 12 hours (2 days / 2 nights, 4 off)
