TM Resourcing's Technical & Engineering division are proud to announce a number of permanent CNC Milling and Turning positions available in the Derby area.
We have the pleasure of representing a mid-sized sub contract precision engineering company that are currently going through a period of expansion due to continued demand of their products and services.
This company houses a wealth of machines, made up of high end Grinders, Vertical Machining Centres and Lathes, most of which have multi-axis capabilities. Their diverse range of machinery enables the company to supply a variety of markets, including Aerospace, Motorsport and Oil & Gas.
This is a small to medium size batch production environment, meaning that programming and setting is a large part of this role. We are looking for candidates who are confident in writing bespoke programs from scratch directly from technical drawings and blueprints.
Duties will include:
- Plans machining by studying drawing issued, route card planning, materials, specifications, machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
- Checking Route Card to determine material / free issue parts are available; checking tooling is available on the set up sheet.
- Programs CNC milling machines by entering instructions, including datums and reference points; setting tools, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic maths, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
- Sets-up CNC milling machines, tools, attachments, collets, fixtures, stops, and 4th Axis Attachments; Tail-stock assists.
- Loads billets lifting / placing into position.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to Customer drawing tolerances and standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing machining including, drilling, thread milling, tapping and measurements of parts; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality procedures and processes.
- Inspects own production prior to getting a first off from a Quality Inspector.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety policies and procedures.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; reporting machines needing repairs.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production Route Cards and logging quantity operations to the M1 MRP system.
- Updates job knowledge by updating tooling and contributing the ongoing continual improvement of machining processes.
- Accomplishes time frames by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; looking at the old processes to update and add value to the CNC operations.
- Facilitate 5s in the Milling Section.
Package & Benefits:
- Basic Salary: Flexible depending on experience & abilities
- Working Hours: Permanent Night Shifts (39 hours per week)
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30PM to 5AM
- Shift Allowance: £60 per week
- Overtime: Regularly available - paid at 1.5
