- Description
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates with assigned Foreman and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
- Diagnoses causes of electrical problems or failures in assigned systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair
- Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health and building regulations.
- Inspects electrical / fire alarm / security systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
- Installs electrical system components as assigned (e.g. panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, detectors, etc.) for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded system capabilities.
- Maintains assigned vehicle, tools and test equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability of equipment in the workplace. Monitors the electrical / fire alarm / security system work of outside contractors (e.g. new school sites, electrical system upgrades/expansions, major remodels, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that the projects are satisfactory completed and within local / State / Federal and District codes, regulations and specifications.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
- Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job sit
- Routine servicing and maintenance of fire alarm, emergency lighting and smoke vent systems in accordance with the relevant British Standards and BAFE SP203
- Defects diagnosis and repair works.
- Completion of Engineers Report Sheets, Log Books and other site records.
- Commission Fire and Intruder Alarms following installation
- Participating in Out of Hours call-out rota currently 1 in 7
- Training and development of junior engineers
- To liaise with other staff, Surveyors and Sub-contractors as necessary to ensure the timely completion of works within agreed operational targets.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork including job sheets and timesheets and ensure this is passed to your Supervisor within agreed timescales.
- To accept progress and complete accurately all works allocated via the mobile working device (PDA's).
- Ensure that any required qualifications for your position remain valid and to ensure that any necessary training is arranged and undertaken within the specified timescales.
- To attend meetings, training sessions and conferences as required.
- To participate in the Group's out of hour's emergency service.
- To act at all times in accordance with the Company's rules, policies, procedures and financial regulations.
