The vision of this role is to assist in driving the creative direction of the company; producing consistent high quality graphics and design, within the brand remit.Job Purpose:
Working alongside senior creative staff, the designer will turn the vision into reality, through careful project planning and communication.
Utilising a range of creative skills and tools, including but not limited to, typography, layout, animation and art direction the designer will produce high quality, client focused and timely designs.
Key result areas
- Provide proactive support in the completion of key design projects
- Undertake individual design project briefs and complete them to a professional standard and to deadline
- Ensure continual development of design and project management skills and knowledge of current technology
- Maintain a thorough and clear understanding of Progressive Property and how the design team fits into all business objectives
The Role
This role needs flexibility. Depending on the project or task in hand, skill areas can vary, and tools and techniques may need to be adapted to suit client needs. From time-to-time a designer may need to work hours that aren't typical to ensure deadlines are met
- Attend creative meetings and share ideas with the team
- Produce on-brand and effective designs for print and digital
- Communicate with senior team members and client to discuss projects and design ideas, receive feedback and maintain improvements
- Liaise effectively with other team members
- Support the team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects
- Other duties as directed by the Head of design but within the scope of team objectives
Skills
A good knowledge of the following tools is required:
- InDesign
- Illustrator/Sketch
- Photoshop
- PowerPoint
- Basic HTNL/CSS/SCSS
- Understanding of Usability and Interaction Design
- Video Editing Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Adeptness with leading design software packages
- The ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
- The ability to see projects through from inception to production
- Consistency regardless of project size
- Good organisational skills that support the rest of the team
- The motivation to maintain and improve design standards
- The willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve
About You
You will have a true passion for design and understanding of brands. You make it your business to stay tuned into the latest industry trends and best practices to stay ahead of the completion.
Exposure to modern design & development methodologies such as User Centred Design, Agile or similar would be an advantage.
