TM Resourcing (Technical & Engineering) are recruiting for a service engineer for a well-established company in Luton.

We have over 70 years' experience in supplying magnetic solutions to customers and our business is primarily devoted to:

  • Lifting Magnets - from single permanent lifting magnets to bespoke lifting systems
  • Work holding Magnets - magnetic chucks and clamps for all types of machining and clamping applications
  • Magnetic Conveyors - design, manufacture and installation of all types of magnetic conveying equipment and components for metal packaging and food industry.
  • Recycling & Separation Magnets - for separating ferrous and non-ferrous material in all types of recycling applications. Also for extracting ferrous parts from food, beverage and product flows
  • Mould & Die Change Systems - suppliers of magnetic platens, QMC systems, couplings and components
  • Filtration - suppliers of oil mist filtration systems for all types of machining processes. Also coolant cleaning systems for machine tool.
  • Service & Repair - we offer full testing, certification and repair on all makes of lifting magnets. Also, repairs of magnetic chucks.My client are a small company looking for a Service Engineer to complete our team. Applicant traits must include: good attention to detail, organised manner, and ability to prioritise own workload, willingness to learn new products.

About the role:

  • Main duties are the Inspection, Testing, and Service & Repair of Lifting Magnets & Magnetic Grinding/Milling Chucks.
  • Responsible for the Health & Safety aspect of the business. Keeping up to date with and implementing any legislative changes.
  • Maintaining the spare parts / stores.
  • Customer support - usually over the phone or by email. Offering support to customers who have issues with their equipment. To help solve the customers' problem, and get their equipment back up and running.
  • Carrying out any modifications to customers' requirements, within the safety parameters.
  • The successful candidate will carry out the day to day running of the service department, this will include unloading deliveries, checking goods in, advising sales of the items that have arrived, preparing quote details, updating the records, packing the goods, loading on to courier vehicle for return to the customer.
  • Also getting goods ready for dispatch that sales team advise are being collected.
  • General warehouse duties
  • Occasional site service visits are required - this will mean working at customers sites, and staying away.

Candidate will ideally have the following:

  • Proven record of electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
  • Clean Driving licence
  • Working knowledge of HSE regulations (in particular PUWER & LOLER)
  • Able to interpret Engineering drawings
  • Fork truck licence would be an advantage
  • First aid knowledge

What my client can offer:

  • Hours Mon-Thurs 08.30 - 17.30 Friday 08.30 - 16.00
  • £27,000 - £30,000 per annum - subject to experience
  • 25 days pro -rata holiday (keeping 3 for xmas shutdown)
  • Closed Bank Holidays
  • Flexibility to do extra hours and hours to cover holidays is also required.
