The Role:
A trainee is required who will ultimately become a qualified attorney within the trade mark team at the firm's Aberdeen office. Main responsibilities:
Deadline management
Carrying out searches
Drafting legal arguments for litigation
Drafting legal memos for clients and attorneys
Filing applications and related documents with a variety of Trade Mark Offices
Invoicing clients
Client work instructions and internal processes
Communicating with clients and foreign attorneys
Review considerations from outside counsel
Assist with updating
Manage prosecution files and attorney schedules
Preparing client portfolio reports
Dealing with day to day queries to and from our offices in Europe and the USA
Assisting with business development activities (articles, events etc.)
Diary management
Candidate Requirements:
The positions would suit a recent law graduate with ideally a 1:1 or 2:1 classification that covered Intellectual Property (IP) within the course or someone that has some experience of IP and who can demonstrate a high skill level in the following areas:
Attention to detail
Being organised
The ability to work on their own initiative
Demonstrate excellent communication skills
Work to precise deadlines
Prioritise, take instruction and work under pressure
