Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The manager is responsible for contributing significantly to the provision of specialist tax advice and planning for clients on special projects. This is a pure advisory role and the candidate will have an outstanding opportunity to work on many varied and interesting projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To undertake a wide range of ad-hoc tax projects/ advisory work.

  1. Working with and answering queries from Directors and clients in a timely and accurate manner within agreed limits of responsibility, including tax advice and forward planning to identify future tax issues.
  2. To liaise with team members around the practice to ensure the efficient delivery of tax planning projects to meet the expectations of clients and directors.
  3. Responsibility for managing all work, billing and ensuring budgets are met.
  4. To keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and the application of this knowledge to clients affairs.
  5. To identify opportunities and action these as appropriate.
  6. To develop others within the team with technical ability as well as their general development.
  7. To develop relationships with clients and professionals to build their network skills and identify opportunities.

  9. To respect client confidentiality and report any issues which may affect client relationships to their Director.
  10. To promptly report to their Director any concerns which may affect the Company's client relationship e.g. money laundering, unethical business practice, complaints etc
  11. Person Specification
  1. You will be ACCA, ACA and/or CTA qualified or equivalent experience with a detailed knowledge of UK tax legislation and implications for clients.
  2. Must be able to actively manage own workloads and take responsibility for own development.
  3. Must be able to demonstrate effective staff management and communication skills.
  4. Must be able to demonstrate effective client inter-personal skills including the management of client expectations.
  5. To ensure that team members under the manager's control are supported and assist them to achieve agreed targets in their performance and development.
  6. To ensure that all team members within his/her supervision receive effective job training and experience to compliment their studies, whilst at the same time meeting work priorities.
  7. Must be able to work well with all team members and ensure the department works well as a team.
  8. You will be a friendly and helpful person with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  9. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
