External Engineering Account Manager

Up to £40k, plus company car, laptop, mobile phone and commission

Leeds, West Yorkshire, Free Parking

Permanent, Full Time

TM Resourcing are delighted to be working alongside our manufacturing client to recruit an experienced External Account Manager.

Please note: This role will involve international travel once every 8 to 12 weeks and will require the successful candidate to be based in the Leeds office every other Friday.

The External Account Manager will be responsible for promoting and selling engineered finished machined products to new and existing customers in line with our client's growth expectations.

Covering England, South Wales and Scandinavia you will be focusing on the company's top 200 customers to ensure retention and growth and the development of new business focusing predominately on machined parts along with raw materials.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Pro-actively researching and developing new business opportunities within the defined region

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key decision makers within the existing customer base

  • Carrying out account reviews on a regular basis to evaluate customer demands

  • Proactively following up customer quotations in a timely manner, recording details on the CRM

  • Reporting on major details/actions on a weekly basis

  • Attending meetings, exhibitions, presentations and seminar either in the UK or overseas

  • Producing monthly sales reports

  • Monitoring competitor activity and reporting on opportunities and prospects

  • Investigating and resolving customer concerns, complaints or disputes in a pragmatic and diplomatic way

You will need:

  • Sales/account management experience within the engineering sector

  • Experience within a subcontract machine shop/machining environment

  • European language skills would be beneficial but not essential

  • Full, clean driving licence
