Bilingual Localisation Engineer - York
Permanent - £30-40K
TM Resourcing are working with an established international Digital Marketing business based in York and they are looking to recruit a bilingual Localisation Engineer to join their team. The successful person will provide support to the Project Management and Business Solutions teams which provide excellent quality translation services.
Key Duties:
Analyse and prepare diverse file formats for localisation into foreign languages using CAT tools and other platforms.
Evaluate localisation requirements of individual projects and provide support from prospecting stage to final delivery to the Project Managers, ensuring fast turnaround and costing accuracy.
Devise best practice and innovative workflows and processes, incorporating suitable technology enabling the Project Management team to independently manage the full workflow from start to finish.
Liaise with external developers dealing with software engineering, QA testing, software localisation and project planning.
Essential Skills Required:
Degree in computer-related qualification.
Intermediate knowledge of HTML/XML and other script languages such as PHP, etc.
Working knowledge of Regular Expressions/Xpath queries and a basic understanding of programming languages such as C#, VB, etc would be desirable.
Working knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe packages.
Knowledge of character encoding for foreign languages.
Knowledge of CAT/translation memory packages.
Familiarity with some of these tools: Microsoft Visual Studio, Trados, SDLX, Passolo, Flash, Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Project, Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, InDesign), XMLSPY, PoEdit, Ms Publisher, Memsource, MemoQ and Wordfast.
About You:
Bilingual with a high written and spoken level of English. Our client will accept applications from candidates from a wide variety of languages so if you speak an additional language and have the required IT skills please get in touch.

Organised and methodical with good written and verbal communication skills.
