CNC Machinist

Location: Earith, Cambridgeshire

Day shifts - 7:30AM to 5PM (43 Hours per week)

Overtime regularly available (and is optional) - paid at time and a third

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

TM Resourcing (Technical & Engineering) are working with a privately owned sub-contract manufacturer based in Earith.

Our client is a relatively young business, owned by directors who share over 50 years of combined experience within sub-contract machining.

The company currently houses 10 CNC Machines (Mills & Lathes) all of which are HAAS (Mini-Mills & VFs). 8 of their 10 machines were purchased in the last 5 years to ensure the company are using to most cutting edge technology available to them, this is also a fantastic indication that the company reinvests profit to ensure future growth.

The company currently employs less than 10 people and are looking to increase this number significantly over the coming years, their vision is that they will at some point have 1 machinist responsible for 2 machines at any one time.

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who is relatively new to engineering and has some experience and knowledge of CNC Machining. Our client is happy to offer training and development to the right candidate and is looking for somebody who is in it for the long run.

Below is a list of the skills, experience and qualities we are looking for (NOT ALL ARE ESSENTIAL):

  • Apprentice trained/time served/qualified in Machining/Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience of CNC Machining (Milling or Turning)

  • Experience using Fanuc or HAAS controls

  • Experience of online programming (ideally with Featurecam/Solidworks)

  • Sub-contract machining background

  • Comfortable machining to tight tolerances and time frames

  • Experience within a quality critical environment

  • Ability to work from own initiative as well as from clear instructions

  • Committed to meeting and exceeding customer expectations

  • Somebody looking for a long-term career prospect
