- HGV Class 1 Driver
We are currently looking for to work a Monday to Friday shift pattern. Start times are prearranged based on delivery requirements but are likely to average between the hours of 0300-0700 each day. Flexibility on start times is a very important part of this role.
Drivers are responsible for ensuring that customers receive their deliveries in a timely fashion and in good condition. Working within the frozen food supply chain you will be driving Class 2 vehicles nationwide to a range of delivery points large and small. The fleet of Class 2 vehicles is Mercedes and will be your cab for the duration of your shift pattern.
Driving the company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner is a vital part of the role as you are representing the company on the highway in our branded vehicles. Candidates must possess a sound working knowledge of legislative and highway regulations. Would suit a friendly reliable person who is willing to work hard to get the product delivered!
You should have good communication skills and be willing to assist customers with their deliveries. Should be flexible and willing to help out colleagues as requested to meet the needs of the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working within the frozen food supply chain you will be driving a Class 1 temperature-controlled vehicle based from our South Kirkby site.
- Multi Drop/ Multi Temp
- To manage and organize designated delivery notes into route order and loading vehicle accordingly.
- Multi drop deliveries according to your daily schedule.
- Dealing with issues as and when they occur, keeping in touch with our Logistics Team to ensure we can keep our customers updated. Involves moving heavy boxes and some handballing if requested.
- Unload and reloading the vehicle by hand if necessary.
- Collecting returns.
- Ensuring all documentation is correct and submitted on time.
- Comply with hygiene, health and safety and site rules, BRC adherence and document completion.
- The rate of pay is £663.47 per week (Based on a 48hr working week)
- Working Monday to Friday
- Overtime pay is available on weekends
- Saturdays @ £20.73ph
- Sundays @ £27.64ph
- Nights Out Required £28.50 per night
- Hold a HGV Class 1 (C+E) HGV/LGV entitlement
- Hold a valid digital tachograph card (digi-card)
- No more than 6 points on your license; DR DD IN endorsements are not accepted
- Full CPC
- Polite and pleasant personality
