Taskmaster are currently looking to recruit a temporary Conference and Events Manager for our client, an award winning hotelier.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- To be totally customer focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly and effective approach.
- To take control and ownership for the management of the event services department within the overall policies and controls established by the Company and the Hotel General Manager, ensuring that the brand values and standards are delivered and budgeted profitability achieved.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To implement the consistent delivery of superior customer service.
- Ensure that the department creates a professional impression to customers and team members.
- Review and act on customer service reports and customer feedback relevant to your areas of responsibility to achieve positive and consistent results.
- To be fully aware of budgeted and actual departmental financial targets.
- Produce and update business forecasts.
- Carry out quality planned training and development in a systematic and professional way.
- To assist with the control and monitoring of payroll costs.
- Be fully aware of and control departmental operating costs in line with forecasted business levels.
- To exercise effective stock rotation and maintain stock levels.
- Participate with liquor stock-takes as required.
- Ensure all procedures and processes for food and drink service controls are strictly followed.
- Ensure the implementation of standards to maintain and constantly improve departmental operating standards.
- To positively approach sales opportunities in order to maximise sales revenue and exceed budgeted sales targets for the department.
- To be actively involved with and suggest promotional opportunities to enhance departmental sales to meet and exceed budget. This to include planning, implementation and review of promotions.
- Create and maintain a selling culture throughout the department.
- To assist the Operations Manager in leading and creating a team environment which promotes good employee morale.
- Assist with effective communication within your team.
- Complete performance reviews for team members following company guidelines.
- Carry out the recruitment of new team members.
- Continuously coach and counsel colleagues.
- To strictly adhere to cash and key procedures required by the hotel and the company.
- To be fully aware of and adhere to Health and Safety, Fire, Bomb Threat, Food Safety and Security procedures laid out by the company/hotel.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION:
- Previous hospitality or retail experience.
- Previous Customer Service experience.
- Hotel/Food/Catering/Service related qualification.
- APLH/Personal License.
- Good understanding of written and spoken English language.
Hours: Mainly Tue-Sat: 4pm - 2am.
Salary: £13.17ph
