Gardener

Gardener required for a temporary contract working in a hospice in Leeds. You will be assisting with preparing and planting visually attractive seasonally planted areas,pots, hanging baskets within the view of patients. Assist with improving and maintaining all planted areas to a good horticultural standard including greenhouse for plant production and composting arrangements.

You need the following:

Be able to work on own and part of a team.

Have good knowledge and gardening skills

Promote good practice regarding Health & Safety and safe working practices

Excellent communication skills

DBS- portable and advantage or one can be applied for.

Duties:

Ensure all shrubs are pruned

Mowing and other gardening equipment is maintained

Ensure all grassed areas are kept in good condition free from leaves & debris.

Making sure all roadways, footpaths, patios and car park areas are kept tidy and litter free

Carry out routine grounds keeping duties

Soil cultivation,digging, forking,mulching, watering, raking,weeding edging, pruning bed preparation and planting.

Report any faulty or damaged equipment or any potential hazards.

Carry out any other duties around the hospice assisting with the maintenance staff and other departments.
