Taskmaster are currently recruiting for a Supervisor to work for our well recognised client based in the Peterborough area.
Manage employees, who collects refuse and recycling from residential properties and commercial businesses in Peterborough, either by manual means or by the use of wheeled bin lifting equipment, and subordinates, working in a team or individually, to maximize their performance and contribution.
Duties:
• The methods, materials and regulations used to collect, transport and dispose of waste. This includes recycling and monitoring of waste disposal and establish waste collection routes.
• Schedule their work and activities, give instructions, motivate and direct the workers to meet the company objectives.
• Monitor and measure how an employee undertakes their responsibilities and how well these activities are executed.
• Identify areas for improvement and make suggestions to achieve this. Lead a group of people to help them achieve goals and maintain an effective working relationship among staff.
• Ensure safety of site personnel; supervise correct use of protective equipment and clothing; understand and implement safety procedures.
•Liaise with managers of other departments.
• Performance planning manage one's time schedule and resources in order to finish tasks in a timely manner.
• Full adherence and awareness of all aspects of Health and Safety, policies and procedures, Legislation, and Manual Handling.
• Being prepared to partake in emergency work as a driver when required.
Skills and Experience:
• COTC Qualification (or willing to train to attain this WAMITAB qualification).
• Driver`s Certificate of Professional Competency.
• Full Category C Driving Licence.
• Experience of refuse and commercial collections in a public or private sector.
• Awareness of Health and Safety, Manual Handling, legislation, policies and procedures.
• Experience of managing a team of people
• A desire to work to a high standard in all weathers with a flexible approach to hours of work.
• Take pride in what you do and be self-motivated towards work. An ability to motivate your colleagues.
• To be reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
• Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining high attention to details.
• Seeing safety as a top priority and having a positive impact on other people’s wellbeing.
• Ability to calmly deal with potentially confrontational interactions with members of the public.
• Must be physically fit.
Hours: Tue-Fri, 8am start – 17:45 pm finish (9.25 hrs a day) flexible working applies, occasionally required to start 6am and finish at 15:45 as and when needed.
Pay: £15.43 per hour.
