Taskmaster are currently recruiting for a Despatch Operative for our client based in Isleham.
Duties:
- Communicate with hauliers and internal customers.
- Ensure all customer orders are picked with 100% accuracy.
- Ensure all vehicles are loaded in full and on time.
- Enter all required information into Navision with 100% accuracy.
- Print despatch tickets as required and get proof of collection via driver signature.
- Ensure all trailers are set to the correct temperatures and are in a clean condition.
- Ensure that correct dated product is loaded and only roll back on the agreement of the Planning Team.
- Ensure cleanliness at all time in the loading/finished goods cold store, office and perimeter.
- Support the production and yard forklift drivers with their duties when required.
- Assist in emptying trailers with trays and pallets.
- Ensure all daily start-up checks are complete for MHE.
- Do not attempt to drive any MHE on site unless fully trained and signed off.
- Be constantly aware of the people who work around you and always operate at a safe travelling speed.
- Report any faults on MHE and/or shunter immediately to your Manager and/or Engineering manager/Engineer in your Managers absence.
- Report all accidents and near misses immediately to your Manager/HSE Manager. This MUST be followed up with a near miss/ accident report.
- Before leaving the forklift truck, apply break and turn it off. Remove key where required.
- Before loading trailers, ensure that you have the driver’s keys and that they are put in the box on the dock door before raising it.
- When asked to perform any task, ensure that you are aware of the potential dangers of moving an unusual object or difficult load.
Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment aligned with clear Health and Safety guidelines.
- FLT license.
- Ability to identify different products and pick required amounts towards customer orders.
- Ability to use hand held scanner and basic use of computer software.
Shift: 4 on/4 off
Hours: despatch is manned 5am/midnight – our client works on 12 hour shifts, morning/mid/late shift, our client is flexible but would prefer someone who can work across all three.
Pay: basic £13.50 per hour, paid breaks, +25% overtime, £2 night shift premium for every hour worked past 6PM.
