Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Nights)
Location: Peterlee
Salary: £31,500 rising after probationary period
Hours: 21:45pm to 08:00am with a half hour unpaid lunchbreak
Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of exhaust gas control systems for highway and marine diesel engine applications with an excellent working environment. As the business continues to grow, they are looking to recruit a qualified Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician who can maintain CNC machines and lathes.
You will be responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance of equipment, this permanent full-time position is to ensure that all manufacturing equipment is fully operational at all times.
Job description:
Responsible for the routine preventative maintenance of all Fanuc based equipment (such as Doosan, Kitamura, Bridgeport, Hyundai-Kia, Chiron, Fadal, Hitachi and MHP CNC machines and lathes)
Responsible for reacting to and dealing with breakdowns in machinery on both the machining and assembly sides of the business
Plans and executes assigned modification, repair and/or maintenance projects with a high degree of complexity with respect to costs, quality, safety and environmental aspects
Analyses technical problems on site
Executes start of operation of production service and systems
Executes mechanical and/or electrical repairs and works orders
Maintains proper documentation
Contributes to installation projects on site
Supports maintenance of technical documentation of processes and equipment
Dismantles, repairs, assembles and installs mechanical/electrical components on site
Performs tests and verifies correct functioning
Sets up and commissions machines and devices
Supports accountable engineers and other technicians in their tasks, both in maintenance and production
Checks completeness of documents and components for the proper execution of mechanical and electrical tasks
Prepares mechanical and electrical tools and equipment for use
May advise junior staff
Skills/experience:
Must have a relevant qualification in a maintenance and/or engineering discipline
Must have had industry experience working within an automotive engineering/manufacturing environment
Must have at least 5 years' experience in maintenance with at least 2 years' experience in a similar Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician role
Knowledge of health and safety regulations
A working knowledge of, or hands-on experience with, automotive production processes
Must be computer literate with a very good knowledge in the use of MS-Office packages
Must have very good communication skills (oral and written)
Must have a full UK drivers licence (may be required to go and get spare parts)
