Description

Process Engineer

Shifts: 8am to 5pm early finish on Friday

Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of exhaust gas control systems for highway and marine diesel engine applications with an excellent working environment. As the business continues to grow, they are looking to recruit a Process Engineer to work in the manufacturing engineering department. You will be responsible for hands-on production engineering for the rapidly expanding, innovative Tier One design and manufacturing department, supplying a range of exhaust gas control valves for the world's leading truck manufacturers.

Description:

Using state of the art manufacturing facilities, you will work in our manufacturing engineering department in order to improve efficiency and maximise return on investment

You will implement manufacturing processes using lean manufacturing principles

You will be involved in the design and development of new machining processes, test benches and assembly equipment

You will be familiar with factory and equipment analysis

You will manage engineering change

You will deal with new product introductions

You will be expected to develop a strong working knowledge of all products, equipment and production processes through daily monitoring and reacting to process or manufacturing difficulties to support maintenance function as required, and to maintain product quality, manufacturing effectiveness and drive continuous improvement

You will plan and deliver work to ensure the release in time for production and service across the range of exhaust valves

A key part of the role is to develop and enhance the planning and processes

Optimise the current production process within both the manufacturing process control

Skills/experience:

Must have 5 years plus Process/Manufacturing engineering industry experience, preferably in an automotive Tier One or OEM with 2 years' experience in a similar Process/Manufacturing Engineer role

Must have a relevant engineering degree (or equivalent) having worked in an engineering background

Must have experience of introducing process improvements and operational knowledge of KPIs

Must have experience of 6 sigma and value analysis techniques

Must have experience of working with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques

Must be able to problem solve and make decisions

Must have good IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages and 3D CAD packages.

Must have knowledge of health and safety and hazardous materials regulations

Must be able to build, cultivate and maintain strong client relationships

Must have a working knowledge of, or hands-on experience with, automotive production processes including PLC etc

Must have basic knowledge of financials

Must have a full UK drivers licence with access to own vehicle

The ideal candidate:

Must be practical and self-motivated with the ability to work to a high and consistent standard under pressure

Must be analytical - a clear thinker

Must be a team player able to work on their own initiative

Must have Manufacturing and Process Control experience

Mist have the ability to interact effectively with other key functions within the business

Must have the ability to implement change

Must be reliable and flexible in their approach to everyday work requirements

Must be well organised and able to manage and prioritise your own workload to achieve deadlines

Must have excellent interpersonal and Intercultural skills to enable him/her to work all over the world
