Logistics Supervisor
Location: York & Scarborough
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum DOE
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm or 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Holidays: 29 days including bank holidays (increasing to 33 days after 4 years)Are you an aspiring transport and logistics professional looking for your next step? Join our client as a Logistics Supervisor and become a key player in our client’s mission to deliver excellence in quality and service for the North Yorkshire Integrated Equipment Service, supporting local NHS providers and North Yorkshire Council Social Care.
Role Overview:
As a Logistics Supervisor, you will coordinate a dedicated team of 18 field agents responsible for delivering medical equipment to both commercial customers and individuals in their homes. You'll spend a portion of your day meeting with the team in person before they embark on their deliveries, with the rest of your time focused on remote communication and coordination. Your responsibilities will include transport planning, workload management, and fleet management, all while ensuring the highest standards of customer service and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning & Coordination:
- Plan daily and weekly workloads effectively.
- Collaborate with the Customer Service Team Leader on workload planning.
- Support recruitment, on boarding, and training of new team members.
- Ensure compliance with key performance and quality indicators.
- Fleet & Safety Management:
- Act as the Fleet Champion for our fleet of 3.5t vehicles.
- Manage daily fleet issues, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Conduct accident investigations and promote a safety-first culture.
- Quality & Compliance:
- Maintain audit readiness and uphold compliance standards.
- Manage infection prevention audit documentation.
- Oversee fleet maintenance schedules and ensure timely MOT/Service & Repairs.
