Join a dedicated team maintaining critical infrastructure in a secure environment while contributing to public safety and rehabilitation.
Taskmaster Resources Ltd are currently seeking to recruit an on-site Maintenance Electrician to work at HMP Onley, Willoughby (near Rugby), Warwickshire.
The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, 08.00 – 17.00 with an hour earlier finish every Friday. There is a need to work 1 in 3 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met across the contract
- Testing and inspecting electrical installations in line with current IET wiring regulations
- Responding promptly to breakdowns, ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently
- Performing planned and preventative electrical maintenance and diagnosing/replacing failed domestic electrical components
- Actively fault finding and problem solving on domestic electrical systems
- Undertaking electrical installation activities according to provided designs and IET Wiring Regulations
- Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services, and oversee the BMS
- Supporting zero carbon initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals, and handling additional tasks as directed by your line manager
Requirements:
- Appropriate technical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above)
- BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition
- Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations
- Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution, installation, and testing
- Ability to work alone and use initiative
- Capable of working at heights
Prison Security Clearance will be required.
